Florida kick-started its 2028 recruiting cycle with a commitment from four-star wide receiver Armani Strong, who has pledged to the Gators. The Hollywood, Florida native stands 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs 180 pounds, and he currently plays for Chaminade-MMADonna Prep School. Ranked as a top-50 Florida prospect, Strong is regarded as one of the Sunshine State’s premier underclassmen. In 2025, he caught 39 passes for 532 yards and six touchdowns. After a breakout sophomore season, he transferred from Miami Norland High School to the powerhouse Chaminade program.
Strong’s commitment provides new head coach Jon Sumrall and his staff with a cornerstone piece to anchor the 2028 class. Securing a standout talent from a traditional powerhouse underscores Sumrall’s emphasis on keeping elite regional talent at home. The blue-chip playmaker could also serve as a peer recruiter for the Gators as the 2028 class begins to take shape in the coming year. Florida has been active on the trail, pursuing top prospects in the 2027 cycle and entering 2028 with a growing No. 5 class in the 247Sports composite.
Recruiting notes on Armani Strong place him at No. 226 nationally and No. 34 at his position in the 247Sports composite, while the On3 rankings list him at No. 210 overall and No. 31 at wide receiver. Strong held 28 total offers, including interest from three other SEC programs (Kentucky, LSU, and Ole Miss) and substantial attention from in-state rivals Miami and Florida State.
