Boeheim’s Army adds Swider and Devendorf to roster

With their TBT opening round set for July 21, Boeheim’s Army has expanded its roster once again, adding two new pieces to the squad. After a period of being on and then off the roster, Eric Devendorf has returned to Boeheim’s Army. Devendorf explained that his return was driven by a determination to ensure the team met the alumni requirement, a goal that now appears to be secured with Cole Swider’s confirmation of participation this summer.
Swider had initially planned to sit out, but a phone call from Gerry McNamara changed everything. Swider shared that McNamara’s message, “Hey, we need you,” made his decision easy: “When he told me that, I was like, all right. I’d do anything for him. That made my decision very easy.”
With Devendorf and Swider aboard, Boeheim’s Army now joins a core group that already includes Jimmy Boeheim, Buddy Boeheim, Elijah Hughes, and Wes Johnson. This year’s Alumni bracket restricts each team to only four non-alumni players on the roster. As a result, the compilation of Boeheim’s Army could still see changes before the opening round series against the Seton Hall alumni team begins on July 21.
At this moment, it’s clear that Boeheim’s Army could use a true point guard and some interior size. The potential additions—particularly former Orange players—will be watched closely as the Best-of-3 series approaches. With less than two weeks remaining until tip-off, fans and analysts alike are eager to see how the roster will finalize and which familiar faces from Syracuse will help lead Boeheim’s Army in the early rounds of TBT.
The July 21 matchup marks the start of a critical phase for Boeheim’s Army as they navigate the Alumni bracket’s four-non-alumni limit. The team’s ability to balance experience, depth, and versatility will likely determine their competitiveness against other alumni-led squads and how far they can advance in this year’s tournament. Stay tuned for further announcements, as the organization continues to weigh potential additions and adjustments ahead of the first-round series against Seton Hall’s alumni squad.
