(Photo by Stu Forster/Getty Images) | Getty Images Newcastle United could face a major decision over Nick Woltemade before the transfer deadline.Only one year after spending a club-record £69 million to bring the German striker to St. James’ Park, Woltemade might be on the way out of Tyneside. Woltemade scored four goals in his first five Premier League appearances and had us all dreaming about what could be, but the Germany international came down to earth and finished his debut campaign with eight goals and three assists across 33 league games. New manager Matthias Jaissle has experimented with Woltemade both up front and as a No. 10 during preseason, but the forward hasn’t produced many bright moments throughout the summer. Now, Sky Sports Germany is reporting the worst possible news for Newcastle and Woltemade fans, as Borussia Dortmund has already made preliminary enquiries with the Magpies about taking the forward back to the Bundesliga.According to the German outlet, Dortmund has internally identified “two or three names” who could leave before the deadline, including forward Fabio Silva. That sale is the only thing preventing BVB from advancing in the talks for Woltemade, as it’s waiting to remove players from its squad before proceeding with adding others.“According to our information, BVB has inquired (about Woltemade),” Sky Germany reported, adding that Dortmund made “some preliminary inquiries a few weeks ago about a potential transfer” for the Newcastle player. The reported approach is for a loan, not a permanent transfer, meaning Newcastle would retain control of Woltemade without losing him just a year after they invested heavily last summer while potentially allowing him to rebuild his value and confidence in his native Germany. There is no indication Newcastle has accepted Dortmund’s proposal or even decided it is willing to loan Woltemade. The approach remains preliminary, and Silva’s unresolved future represents the first obstacle for all parties involved before any Woltemade exit happens.Would you loan Woltemade to Dortmund for the season or keep the £69 million signing at Newcastle?
