Brad Dalke is well positioned after two rounds of the BMW International Open in Germany. A YouTube star, Dalke has carded rounds of 69 and 66 to trail the leaders by just one stroke heading into the final round. The 29-year-old earned an invite to this week’s BMW International Open and has seized the opportunity in the DP World Tour event. Dalke started strong on Thursday with a 69, then stepped up his game on Friday, firing a six-under-par 66 that underscores his pedigree at golf’s top level.
Dalke spoke with reporters after his second round, following a six-under 66 on day two at the BMW International Open. Asked about his ambition to one day secure a DP World Tour card, his reply stirred some reaction. “I don’t need to grind through tours, that’s not what I want to do,” he said. “But if I play well at an event like this and somehow build off that—and if I earned a tour card, that would be awesome. I’d play 100%.”
His remarks touched a nerve for some, who felt they reflected an elitist view. A golf fan vented on X, criticizing Dalke for implying he’s above the path taken by many players to reach the sport’s highest levels and labeling him an arrogant “content creator.” Dalke responded on his official X account, clarifying his stance: “I have the utmost respect for everyone who has gone through the grind or is going through the grind right now. I’m grateful to be in a position where I don’t necessarily have to. Hope you have a fantastic day!”
