BUFFALO — The San Jose Sharks selected goaltender Brady Knowling with the No. 127 pick in the 2026 NHL Draft. Knowling spent most of his season with the USNTDP U-18 team, posting a 15-12-0 record with an .880 save percentage. Standing 6-foot-5 and left-handed, the netminder will play for the Saginaw Spirit next season and has committed to Boston University after that.
The NTDP starter is described by Elite Prospects as one of the most toolsy goalies in the class, though questions remain about how his weaknesses might affect his development. They note a big decision for scouts: whether to bank on his highs and potential untapped upside, especially given his mobility for his size, or to adopt a more conservative approach due to concerns about his tracking and play-reading.
“There’s a legit top prospect here,” one NHL goalie scout told Sean Shapiro. “There’s a lot to build on, the things that any goalie coach would love to work with and allow to mature.”
In addition to Knowling, the Sharks also selected goalie Joshua Ravensbergen with the No. 30 pick. Their next draft selection is No. 174 in the sixth round. The headline from San Jose Hockey Now reads: BREAKING: Sharks Pick Brady Knowling No. 127.
