Brentford Women 4 Ascot United 0: Kiszkis scores brace in first pre-season outing

The Bees lined up in their new home kit for the 2026/27 and 2027/28 campaigns and wasted no time making their mark, breaking the deadlock with a stunning team goal. Smith and Katie Gilligan combined brilliantly with a smart one-two before Gilligan fed Kiszkis, who wrapped her foot round the ball and curled a first-time shot into the top-right corner to put Brentford ahead on the quarter-hour.
Just three minutes later, Brentford Women doubled their lead in style. Maddie Phillips lofted a ball to Berry, who controlled and then smashed a half-volley against the far post, beating the Ascot goalkeeper to make it two. Kiszkis soon added a third for Brentford on 23 minutes, this time sparked by Smith’s assist from the right. Feed from the winger, Kiszkis lofted the ball over Ascot’s centre-half and then chipped the stranded keeper with a deft, improvised finish to cap a superb first-half display.
The tempo slowed after the break, though the evening still held moments of quality. Ten minutes into the second half, substitute Ilana Harris-Walters produced a brilliant cross from the right, creating a golden chance for Trialist B, who could only turn the ball wide at the back post. Asees Sangha then tested the Ascot keeper with a left-footed effort from the edge of the box, which was parried away, before Teale narrowly headed Harris-Walters’ excellent cross over the bar with 15 minutes remaining.
Lucy Potter advanced down the left on the 80th minute, delivering a precise ball back to Sangha, who forced a sharp save from Ascot’s number one to keep the scoreline at three. Freya Worsley moments later had a goal ruled out for offside, but Teale capped Brentford’s performance with a fourth late strike. Cutting in from the left, she unleashed a precise drive from the edge of the box after a generous set from Kiszkis, sealing a productive first showing for Williams’ side as they returned from the summer break.
Looking ahead, Brentford’s next pre-season fixture is scheduled for Sunday 26 July, when they host west London rivals QPR at their new home, Uxbridge FC. Admission is free for all supporters.
