Bromley complete triple signing of George, Mendy and Headman

Bromley have completed the triple signing of goalkeeper Shamal George and defenders Jacob Mendy and Chanse Headman. Headman, 21, has joined the League One newcomers from Harrogate Town for an undisclosed fee, while George and Mendy arrive on free transfers. George departed Wycombe Wanderers earlier this summer, where he made just five appearances across two seasons, and spent last season on loan at St Mirren, helping them lift the Scottish League Cup. The 28-year-old began his career at Liverpool and had loan spells with Carlisle United, Tranmere Rovers and Marine before joining Colchester United in 2020. He spent two seasons with the Essex side before moving to Scottish Premiership outfit Livingston, where he made 80 appearances.
Mendy arrives at the London club after leaving Peterborough, where he spent last season but was limited by injuries, featuring in just 12 matches. The 29-year-old, who has three caps for The Gambia, previously wore the shirts of Wrexham and was part of the sides that earned back-to-back promotions to the Championship. Headman, meanwhile, made 16 appearances for Harrogate during the latter portion of last season as the club were relegated from League Two.
Together, the trio’s arrivals mark Bromley’s first four summer signings in the space of 24 hours, following Thursday’s capture of midfielder Kamil Conteh from Bristol Rovers. This flurry of activity underlines Bromley’s intent to strengthen across the squad as they prepare for the new campaign. Listen to Bromley content on BBC Sounds for better SEO.
