Before joining the Broncos, Jones stood out at LSU, where he spent three years as a starter from 2021 through 2024. Over 51 career games with the Tigers, he racked up 99 tackles (38 solo, 61 assists), 11.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and five pass breakups. He was a mainstay on the starting lineup, starting all 13 games in both 2023 and 2024. What his path to a spot on the 53-man roster looks like is worth watching. Jones is a potential starter, especially as the Broncos transition to a younger defensive front. He could realistically be penciled in as a replacement for the departed John Franklin-Myers on the defensive line. Now in his second full year within defensive coordinator Vance Joseph’s scheme, Jones has a real opportunity to emerge as a frequent contributor and possibly a starter. That said, he will need to win the job in camp and preseason against a handful of capable peers, including Eyioma Uwazurike, Jordan Jackson, and Matt Henningsen, all of whom will vie for similar roles along the line.
