BOSTON — On June 26, 1993, the Bruins drafted Kevyn Adams in the first round of the NHL Draft.
One June 26, 2026, the Bruins added Adams to their front office.
SportsNet Elliotte Friedman reported the news during the network’s draft coverage on Friday night ahead of the first round of the 2026 NHL Draft. It’s unclear what his exact role will be.

Adams was fired by the Sabres in December after a 14-14-4 start to the 2025-26 season. Buffalo went on to finish atop the Atlantic Division with a 50-23-9 record en route to its first Stanley Cup playoffs run since 2011.
The news comes shortly after Boston reportedly acquired J.J. Peterka in a trade with the Utah Mammoth. Adams and Peterka were both part of Buffalo’s organization together.
Bruins general manager Don Sweeney revealed last week he was going to look externally to add to Boston’s hockey operations department
“I am going to add from the outside, I think that’s also healthy to continue to bring people in with a different perspective, a new voice, and seeing things differently than maybe we are,” he said. So we’re going to do that as well. And that will be announced in the next week or so.”
