WOONSOCKET – The program’s storied football history being what it is, it would still be difficult to imagine too many Burrillville running backs ever enjoying a night like this one. Joey Marcoccio turned Dionne Track into his own personal playground, and the Broncos trampled a regional rival in what was billed coming in as a Division II showdown. Marcoccio exploded for 294 yards on the ground and three touchdowns as Burrillville imposed its will up front all night. Woonsocket was powerless to stop the onslaught, as the Broncos steamed their way to a 41-18 triumph under the lights. More: Rhode Island high school football Week 4 schedules, scores and statsThe threatening pregame clouds largely held their precipitation as they moved through the area – Marcoccio took it upon himself to open the floodgates. He cracked the 100-yard mark by halftime and was already over the 200-yard threshhold when he finished a hat trick with 11:17 left, a spectacular 90-yard scoring rush up the middle and toward the right sideline. “I just had it,” Marcoccio said. “I was visualizing it. I was trying to get it in my mind and visualizing these blocks.  “We had a great game plan. We have great (offensive) linemen. They did their jobs.”Burrillville effectively put this one out of reach early in the third quarter, following a statement drive with a turnover and a second score. Marcoccio capped a 10-play march that chewed up 7:24 on the clock when he zipped through the right side from 4 yards out to make it 27-6. Jackson Deschamps came up with a fumble recovery on the first Villa Novan play after the change of possession and Marcoccio raced 29 yards around the left side to open a 34-6 cushion with 3:12 to play. “Monday during our walkthrough Coach (Gennaro) Ferraro was like, ‘This is Joey’s week. He’s going to come out. He’s going to have a game,'” Burrillville quarterback Chace Gavis said. “We’ve been waiting on it.” The Broncos might have planned to run some clock after Jalil Quinones Diaz twisted and powered his way to a 24-yard touchdown run with 11:39 left in the fourth, but Marcoccio wasn’t having it. He took a handoff up the middle on the first Burrillville play of the ensuing possession and was off, streaking between defensive backs down the middle. He cut toward the right sideline and had just enough juice left to crack the goal line, a third scoring rush on what was a career evening. “I was exhausted,” Marcoccio said. “I started cramping up at the end. I was like, ‘I see this end zone – I’m not going to give up now.'” View this post on InstagramMarcoccio received the bulk of the carries in place of fellow senior Caden Hebert (undisclosed injury), who sat this one out along with multiple Broncos regulars. The converted wide receiver combined the quick feet that proved beneficial at his old position with an ability to break tackles that goes beyond his size. Only eight of his 20 carries went for single-digit yards, and Marcoccio didn’t ta
