Team USA is coming in hot to Berlin, Germany, for the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup, as the WNBA’s hottest superstars, Caitlin Clark and Paige Bueckers, are set to share the backcourt on the grandest stage of women’s basketball. Though they already had a chance to play together in junior national team camps as well as representing USA Basketball in the 2019 FIBA Under-19 Women’s World Cup, it is only this time that the two of them have appreciated their chemistry as they’ve been pitted against each other when they’re playing for their ball clubs. Clark and Bueckers expressed how happy they are to be playing together during their media availability on Thursday. “Obviously, it’s really fun to play with Paige. I’ve grown up playing against her and with her since a very young age. So, very fun experience to be here,” Clark said. “She cuts really well, she has great feel for the game. I think our chemistry has been really good, and [we are] gaining more and more momentum through that as we go through the tournament.”The world will have its first look at what kind of spectacle Clark and Bueckers can produce once they square off against China to open their 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup campaign on Friday. “It’s kind of natural and organic”: Paige Bueckers echoes Caitlin Clark’s sentiments about playing together for Team USAIf Caitlin Clark was raving over the fact that she gets to be on the same team with Paige Bueckers, the Dallas Wings superstar spoke highly about their partnership on the court. It’s been a while since we played together, but it’s almost like no time has passed. Obviously, with Caitlin, we want to run the floor, be a great wing, be a great cutter, move off the ball.”Apart from Clark, Bueckers also showered Aliyah Boston, who provides great screens and is a solid defender. She also felt things were going to get easy for her, knowing that Boston is in their squad. Clark and Bueckers’ mutual respect showed that they may be rivals in the WNBA, but when duty calls, they are willing to set it all aside to achieve their common goal, which is to deliver Team USA’s fifth straight gold medal in the quadrennial spectacle.
