​WNBA star guard Caitlin Clark received her sixth technical foul on July 18 as the Indiana Fever defeated the New York Liberty.The Fever defeated the Liberty 108-88 as Indiana captured its 16th win of the season. However, the Indiana guard has not been shy about expressing her frustration with the officiating of games. During a press conference on July 20, Clark was asked about her approach to the game after receiving her sixth technical of the season. “I just yelled at him to call it. Obviously, it was a pretty quick technical, but whatever,” Clark said.Shortly after Clark’s response, she was asked if she would change her approach to the game as she nears the eight technical limit, which would result in an automatic one-game suspension. The former Iowa product said that she will not change her approach to the game. Indiana Fever Indiana is currently on a two-game winning streak after defeating the Liberty on July 18 and after defeating the Seattle Storm 110-107 on July 17. Clark finished against the Storm with a career-high 45 points, ten assists, two rebounds, four steals, and two blocks while shooting 60 percent from three.Clark also finished the game shooting 61 percent from the field and is the first player to record a 40-10 game in WNBA history. While the Fever guard didn’t score 45 points in her recent game against the Liberty, she finished with 17 points, 7 assists, and 2 rebounds. Kelsey Mitchell helped lead the team with 33 points, one assist, and one steal while shooting 66 percent from three.Last season, Indiana struggled with an injury that shortened the season for Clark. On June 24, during the second quarter of a match-up between the Indiana Fever and the Phoenix Mercury, Caitlin Clark dove to the floor for a loose ball when Thomas landed on her, with Thomas’ arm appearing to make contact with Clark’s throat.Clark did speak out after the foul and condemned all hate speech, and she put the focus back on her and the team. The Indiana guard was named to her third WNBA All-Star Game and will be a starter in this year’s game.The third-year guard is averaging 20.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 7.8 assists per game. The Fever will play the last game before the All-Star Weekend against the young Connecticut Sun on Wednesday at home a6 8 p.m. EST.
