​Atlético Madrid chief Enrique Cerezo said he was surprised by Julian Álvarez’s remarks during the World Cup that a transfer would be best for everyone, with the Argentina star expressing a dream to move on. Cerezo reiterated that Álvarez remains an Atlético de Madrid player, that there have been no offers, and that the club has no intention of selling him this summer. He noted Atlético has filed complaints with FIFA and the RFEF against Barcelona over their pursuit of Álvarez and urged appropriate action from the governing bodies. Despite this, Barcelona are still believed to be pursuing the forward and could bid up to €130 million after the World Cup.
