While this may indicate brilliant performances, it has not been flawless, as he has a completion percentage of 61.9%, which is not particularly efficient.The likes of Darian Mensah, Julian Sayin, and Trinidad Chambliss all have a higher completion percentage compared to Manning, and this could definitely hurt his case to be the number one overall pick.A CBS analyst has even compared the Longhorns QB to Daniel Jones, who was picked sixth overall in the 2019 draft.Ryan Wilson believes Arch Manning has a lot of questions to answerJones was the second QB drafted in 2019, as it was the Arizona Cardinals who selected Kyler Murray as their first overall pick.While Manning has displayed flashes of brilliance, including that masterful QB performance to lead the comeback against Ohio State, statistics show he has not done well enough for a franchise to pick him number one overall, according to Ryan Wilson.“Through three games, compared to these quarterbacks last year in college before they were first-round picks, completion percentage is closer to Daniel Jones,” said Wilson on CBS.Wilson then pointed out the yards per attempt metric, in which Jones and Manning both have recorded 6.8 yards, which is the worst for a QB drafted in the first round from 2019-2026.“We talk about the UTSA game Emily, that looked like a quarterback who looked very uncomfortable in a lot of clean pockets, a lot of easy misses on intermediate throws that should potentially be layups for any other quarterback,” said Wilson.“Through three games there are a lot of questions and NFL teams will also tell you they have similar questions, especially when you compare him to Trinidad Chambliss, who is only 5.11 or maybe 6 feet or even Jayden Maiava, who is playing at a very high level for USC right now.”Manning has a lot of games left where he can prove why he deserves to be the number one overall pick in the 2027 draft.
