ESPN’s executive, coaches and scouts have released their rankings for each position ahead of the 2026 season. On Wednesday, it was the wide receivers’ turn. The position is as deep and explosive as it has ever been, and this year’s rankings feature many of the NFL’s premier playmakers.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler compiled the rankings, and Chargers wide receiver Ladd McConkey was missing from the top 10.McConkey was not voted in the top 10 of the wide receivers rankings, but he did receive some votes. Others who received some votes are Tee Higgins, DK Metcalf, Terry McLaurin, DeVonta Smith and Chris Olave, to name a few.The 24-year-old is now entering his third season in the league. After a stellar 2024 rookie season, the expectation was that McConkey was going to take his game to the next level. Instead, his overall numbers dropped significantly. From receptions to receiving yards to touchdowns, his production fell.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementFor the most part, McConkey has been healthy, missing only two games in his NFL career thus far. If that continues to be the case, McConkey will be a vital piece of Mike McDaniel’s offense, which has the potential to be one of the best in the NFL.As we slowly approach the 2026 season, the former Georgia Bulldog suffered a left hamstring injury during the team’s offseason program. While he is recovering from the injury, McConkey is expected to be ready for training camp.”There’s no reason to rush it and really push it and then have another setback and then you bleed into training camp,” he said.”I feel like I’ve kind of had to switch my mindset,” he said. “I can’t be out there getting the physical reps, but like what can I do mentally to make up that gap.”AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementMcConkey has every opportunity to put up numbers similar to his rookie season, or even surpass them in 2026.This article originally appeared on Chargers Wire: Chargers’ Ladd McConkey just misses ESPN’s top 10 WR rankings
