Charles Bassey agrees to one-year deal to return to Warriors

By admin — In News — July 9, 2026

Following the re-signings of Kristaps Porzingis, De’Anthony Melton, and Al Horford, the Golden State Warriors are bringing back another member of their 2025 roster. After a five-game stint with the Warriors last season, Charles Bassey is set to return on a new one-year contract, according to Shams Charania of ESPN, via X.
Bassey joined Golden State late in the season, spending time with the franchise’s G League affiliate in Santa Cruz beforehand. During his short tenure with the Warriors, he made a strong impression, posting three games with at least 12 points and recording two double-doubles. Across five appearances, Bassey averaged 10.6 points on an efficient 67.7 percent from the field, along with 7.2 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 20.2 minutes per game.
Prior to his time with Golden State, Bassey had a varied path through the NBA, appearing in five games for the Boston Celtics, one game for the Philadelphia 76ers, and two games for the Memphis Grizzlies. He has also spent time with the San Antonio Spurs across his five-year NBA career.
With Quinten Post signing with the Memphis Grizzlies, the Warriors will again have an opening in their frontcourt alongside Porzingis, Horford, and Draymond Green. Bassey will have an opportunity to earn a rotation spot behind Golden State’s veteran frontcourt trio, as he competes for minutes and a role on a team looking to bolster its depth up front.
