​During the 2004 NBA expansion draft, the Charlotte Bobcats found a future star in the form of Gerald Wallace. In his first three seasons with the Sacramento Kings, Wallace averaged just 9.7 minutes per game. Joining a brand new NBA franchise in Charlotte, Wallace took advantage of increased playing time.During his second season with the Bobcats, Wallace led the NBA in steals, averaging 2.5 per game and finishing among the top-10 in Defensive Player of the Year Award voting as a result. Wallace’s best season came during the 2009-2010 campaign, where he made his first and only All-Star appearance, averaging 18.2 points, 10 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.1 blocks. Wallace made the All-Defensive First Team and finished third in Defensive Player of the Year voting.In seven years with the Bobcats, “G-Force” averaged 16.4 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.2 blocks in 454 appearances. Charlotte would later flip Wallace to the Portland Trail Blazers during the 2010-11 season. After a stint with the Nets, he would finish his NBA career after two years with the Boston Celtics.
