Chelsea are currently short on options at left-back following the sale of Spain international Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid, and Chavarría, who enjoyed a standout campaign with Rayo, has been identified as a top priority by the Blues.
As mentioned previously, after turning down an initial bid, Chelsea returned to the negotiating table on Monday. According to Marca transfer insider Matteo Moretto, Chelsea are intensifying their pursuit of Chavarría. The latest update states that Chelsea have submitted a fresh offer for the Spanish defender, which, when including fixed fees and potential add-ons, amounts to €25 million.
Chavarría has already reached a verbal agreement with Chelsea, and he remains hopeful that a corresponding deal between the two clubs can be finalized as soon as possible.
