Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Peter Woods spoke with reporters after practice on Saturday at Missouri Western State University. He discussed the impact of learning from veteran teammates on the defensive line during training camp.”Just taking different things from different guys. Learning what it means to be a pro at this level when it comes to your body, nutrition, meeting rooms, and football,” said Woods. “Obviously, I have some great vets in my room with Khyiris Tonga coming from the Patriots and Chris Jones, and George Karlaftis who are great examples of what it means to be a great guy in the meeting room. Just taking different things from each guy and figuring out what works for me. Obviously, we learn in different ways, but having those people you look up to is very important.”The former Clemson standout’s best college season was in 2024, when he finished with 28 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, 3 sacks, and a forced fumble, earning Honorable Mention All-ACC honors. He played 5 snaps as a fullback in the jumbo package. He further detailed what he’s learning from his veteran teammates.”I think a lot of different ways. First of all, I think getting out here and doing it is kind of how everyone figures it out. I think I learn in a lot of different ways, on paper and on the board,” said Woods. “I’m blessed to come from a great place. Clemson University really cultivated that in me as well as the vets who have been here ten and six, seven years at a time.”Woods was a Second-team Associated Press All-American in 2025, starting 12 games, finishing with 30 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, and 2 sacks. This article originally appeared on Chiefs Wire: Chiefs DL Peter Woods discusses learning from veteran teammates
