Chiefs grab 33-30 win in overtime thriller

   ​KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KSNT) — Victory is secured in an overtime thriller.Patrick Mahomes finished the night 32-for-47 with 382 yards and three touchdowns.Kenneth Walker III picked up his second-straight game with over 100 yards for the Chiefs, with 117 yards on 24 carries.Travis Kelce had nine receptions for 101 yards and a touchdown, averaging 11.2 yards per carry.The Kansas City Chiefs are now 2-0 on the season after securing a 33-30 win over the Indianapolis Colts.The Colts opened up the scoring with a one-yard pass to Tyler Warren from Daniel Jones for an early 7-0 lead.Harrison Butker would knock in a field goal from 46 yards out for the Chiefs first score of the night.A minute and a half later, Patrick Mahomes would connect with Travis Kelce for 13 yards to put Kansas City on top, 10-7.Indianapolis would score with 49 and 42-yard field goals to start the second quarter, retaking the lead, 13-10.Butker would attempt a 51-yard field goal between the two Colts field goals, but the miss would keep them behind.On the following Kansas City drive, Mahomes would find Xavier Worthy for a one-yard touchdown pass, taking a 17-13 lead.A 24-yard TD run from the Colts would give Indianapolis the 20-17 lead going into the half.Mahomes would find Jalen Royals for a short, one-yard pass and touchdown to open up the quarter, taking a 24-20 lead.Butker and Kansas City opened up the fourth with a 28-yard field goal to extend its lead, 27-20.A five-yard touchdown run would tie things up at 27-27, sending the game to overtime.After getting the first overtime possession, the Chiefs would get within field goal position. Butker would knock one in from 31 yards to take a 30-27 lead.On their first play of OT, Jones would find Laquon Treadwell for 48 yards to get within the redzone. On the catch, Treadwell slipped and appeared to fumble the ball, which the Chiefs appeared to recover.The play was officially ruled a fumble but after review, officials ruled Treadwell was down by contact.A 38-yard field goal at the end of the drive would tie the game, once again, at 30-30.On what would be the final drive of the game, Butker would knock in a 40-yard field goal to secure the win, 33-30.The Chiefs will head out to Miami next Sunday for a 12 p.m. matchup with the Dolphins.For more sports news, click here.
