The final AP Top 25 of the season will be released at noon on Jan. 26, after the national championship game.Based on the AP Top 25 preseason rankings, the CFP would open like this:No. 9 seed Mississippi at No. 8 Texas A&M. Winner vs. No. 1 Ohio State.No. 12 seed Boise State at No. 5 Texas. Winner vs. No. 4 Notre Dame.No. 10 seed Oklahoma at No. 7 seed Miami. Winner vs. No. 2 Oregon.No. 11 seed Texas Tech at No. 6 Indiana. Winner vs. No. 3 Georgia.Last year’s Week 1 featured three marquee matchups between ranked teams as Texas traveled to Ohio State, Miami faced Notre Dame and LSU took on Clemson.This year, the inaugural Music City Kickoff game in Nashville will feature the only ranked-on-ranked matchup in Week 1. No. 9 Ole Miss and No. 24 Louisville meet at Nissan Stadium, home of the Tennessee Titans, on Sept. 6.The ranked matchups pick up in Week 2 with two ranked matchups featuring SEC and Big Ten schools.
