So if you’ve got any problems with what follows, blame the sphere, not the writer.The day the Browns’ 2026 schedule came out, we made a knee-jerk reaction win-loss prediction on how the season would play out. The result we ended up with was a 5-12 record.Well, four months later, with OTAs and minicamp and training camp and preseason games all having been completed to add context, we’re back here to take a swing at guessing the way the season will go. A rookie left tackle who’s only played 30-some preseason game snaps in the NFL having to face two-time Pro Bowler Josh Hines-Allen in his first regular-season game. All of that against a Jaguars offense that will be in the second season under coach Liam Coen. Not necessarily the recipe for success.Score prediction: Jaguars 30, Browns 17Sept. 20: Browns at Tampa Bay BuccaneersLocation, time: Raymond James Stadium, 1 p.m. ETAbout the game: Baker Mayfield’s going to have a chip on his shoulder the size of a boulder for this game. The Florida heat is going to be a factor for the second week in a row. It’s a little closer, but it’s still 0-2.Score prediction: Buccaneers 24, Browns 21Sept. 27: Browns vs. Carolina PanthersLocation, time: Huntington Bank Field, 1 p.m. ETAbout the game: It’s tempting to say this is when Shedeur Sanders makes his first start, but after two games seems a tad quick to pull the cord. This is a game where the defense gives the Browns a chance. A chance, not a win.Score prediction: Panthers 21, Browns 20Oct. 1: Browns vs. Pittsburgh SteelersLocation, time: Huntington Bank Field, 8:20 p.m. ETAbout the game: You don’t make a quarterback change on the short week. Both of these teams may already want to do that by this point.
