​Packed house, trophy on the line, redemption on the mind.Colorado State delivered.The Ram volleyball team thrilled a sellout crowd at Moby Arena with a dominant 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 25-15) sweep of No. 17 Colorado on Sept. 18.The win gives the Rams their first win over a ranked team this season, handed the Buffs their first loss and allowed CSU to keep the Golden Spike trophy given to the winner of the series each season.CSU had lost 3-1 to Colorado in Boulder the night before, but responded in force in this one.It was CSU’s annual “white out” game and a sellout of 8,083 at Moby Arena delivered the atmosphere and the team delivered the excellent play.”We got Moby Madness behind us. Road games are different than home games,” coach Kohan said after the match, according to CSURams.com. “And man, what an environment. You had 8,000 people cheering for you. I just felt like the revenge tour was something that came out with a little chip on their shoulder.” Kohan had said earlier in the week one of the goals of this team was to deliver a marquee win over a ranked team. This was the final chance for CSU to do so in the regular season after losing three previous games to ranked foes. Now CSU heads into Pac-12 play for the first time. The Rams were picked to win the league in the preseason poll and no teams in the new-look league are currently ranked.
