​The Washington Commanders are expected to sign veteran wide receiver Stefon Diggs, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz. It’s a one-year deal worth up to $12 million. He only played 55% of New England’s snaps after coming off a torn ACL the previous year. Diggs led the Patriots in receiving and was instrumental in second-year quarterback Drake Maye’s progression in 2026. Washington quarterback Jayden Daniels was in the same draft class as Maye.Diggs joins a Washington wide receivers room led by Terry McLaurin. Diggs immediately becomes the Commanders’ No. 2 wide receiver, with a host of others battling for the No. 3 job. Treylon Burks, Luke McCaffrey, Dyami Brown, Jaylin Lane and rookie Antonio Williams have all flashed in training camp. One year ago, an injury to McLaurin decimated Washington’s receiver corps.
