Commute: Sterling Webb will play year 5

By admin — In News — July 31, 2026

At least temporarily!Sterling Webb is one of many 4 year players who are suing the NCAA for an additional year of eligibility, after the NCAA approved its 5 years to play 5 rule. Yesterday, a St. Louis County judge granted a temporary restraining order allowing him to play an additional season. From the AP article following the injunction: Missouri defensive lineman Sterling Webb was granted a temporary restraining order by a St. Louis County judge Thursday that will make him eligible to play for the Tigers this season under rules that were recently adopted by the NCAA.Webb had filed suit against college sports’ largest governing body on Tuesday.Webb, a St. Louis native, played two seasons at New Mexico State, before transferring to Mizzou where he played two additional seasons. So just four seasons total, which used to be normal. Last year he played in every game and started 8, all on the interior of the line. The interior line is also one of the weaker spots for the Tigers heading into the season, so Webb getting another year would certainly be helpful. Yesterday at Rock M and Rock M+So just who was Nathan talking about this week in his 9th installment of the opposing players chronicles? How about the incredibly named Hollywood Smothers:After emerging as one of the ACC’s top running backs during his final season at NC State, Smothers became one of the most sought-after players available last winter. After first committing to Alabama, it came as little surprise when the nation’s top transfer running back ultimately landed in Austin, where he joins an offense already loaded with elite talent. He also highlighted Ty’Anthony Smith, another Texas player but on defense. In all half the list plays for the Longhorns. That seems to be an important game!On Rock M Plus we’re talking about Mizzou making the final 7 for a top 40 guard, and the odds he lands in Como.Rock M’my UpdatesKaren posted an update on voting to the Feed on Wednesday.
