Coventry City have completed the signing of winger Loum Tchaouna from relegated Burnley for an undisclosed fee, with the 22-year-old Frenchman agreeing to a five-year contract. The move is reported to be worth around £20 million. Tchaouna arrived at Burnley from Lazio last summer and contributed three goals in 32 appearances as the Clarets were unable to stay in the Premier League.
“I’m incredibly excited to start this new season in the Premier League,” Tchaouna said. “I’m feeling good and ready for the challenge. I was at Burnley last season in the top flight, which was an amazing experience. I’m going to bring my energy, determination and leadership to the team. I’ve played in Ligue 1, Serie A and now I’m in the best league in the world, so I have a lot of experience for my young age. I can’t wait for the new season.”
Tchaouna progressed through the Rennes youth system before moving to Salernitana in Italy, subsequently earning a switch to Lazio. Coventry, who clinched the Championship title, will begin their campaign against champions Arsenal on 21 August.
