By admin — In News — July 11, 2026

Today marks Day 64 of our 100-day countdown to kickoff as we revisit the 100 most iconic games in Dallas Cowboys history. Our countdown will carry us all the way to the opening game of the 2026 season. Our rankings aren’t based on a single criterion; we weigh multiple factors such as the significance of the game for the franchise, how memorable it is, any unusual events that occurred, whether the game has become part of NFL lore, Cowboys firsts, and games in which the Cowboys simply dominated. Variety fuels this list, and we examine a wide range of Cowboys games for you to review. At the bottom, we’ll provide links to each day of the countdown so you can easily go back and check any entries you missed.
On Day 64, we revisit the comeback that rekindled Cowboys fans’ belief. Dallas entered this Week 12 rivalry game with a 4-5-1 record, while Philadelphia arrived at 8-2 as the defending Super Bowl champions and a league benchmark. For most of the first half, it seemed the Eagles would run away with it. Instead, Dallas erased the deficit, and what followed was pure madness.
The start was brutal. Dallas failed on fourth-and-3 near midfield on its opening drive, and Jalen Hurts immediately exploited the short field with a 16-yard touchdown pass to A.J. Brown. Hurts extended the lead with a seven-yard rushing score late in the first, and a Hurts rushing TD after a KaVontae Turpin fumble pushed the advantage to 21-0 early in the second. AT&T Stadium looked ready to deflate.
Dallas nearly worsened the situation. Prescott led a drive to the Eagles’ one-yard line, only for a false start and then a Reed Blankenship interception to stifle the possession. But the defense finally buckled down, and Dallas used its final possession of the half to claw back into the game. Turpin redeemed his earlier miscue with a 48-yard catch, Jake Ferguson helped advance the ball, and Prescott connected with George Pickens for a one-yard touchdown with 21 seconds left. The Cowboys trailed 21-7, but the pulse of a comeback had begun.
The second half flipped the script. Dallas’s defense tightened, Philadelphia’s offense stalled, and Prescott began attacking downfield. After a missed 51-yard field goal by Aubrey, Prescott answered with another drive, featuring a 48-yard strike to CeeDee Lamb. He then found Brevyn Spann-Ford in the back of the end zone for a touchdown, cutting the lead to 21-14.
Early in the fourth, Prescott and Pickens connected again on a 43-yard bomb that set up the tying score. Two plays later, Prescott scrambled eight yards and dove into the end zone to make it 21-21. What looked like a dead first half had turned into a complete comeback narrative, with Dallas knotting the game with the defending champions.
The closing minutes carried the tension and rivalry to peak SEO-friendly drama. This game is a prime example of why the Cowboys’ history is rich with memorable moments—underdog resilience, big plays, and the relentless pursuit of a breakthrough victory against a top rival.
