Cowboys fans pick the 2026 interception leader for the team

The central storyline for the Dallas Cowboys this offseason centers on shoring up the defense. The offense remains capable of competing at a high level, but a strong unit on that side of the ball is essential; otherwise, even a potent attack can be undermined if the defense allows opponents to feel like contenders every week. With that in mind, Dallas undertook a sweeping overhaul of its defensive side. They brought in a new defensive coordinator in Christian Parker, introduced a hybrid 3-4 base scheme, and revamped the personnel and coaching staff across the board. The changes are designed to create more disruption, better versatility, and a more aggressive approach to turning stops into possessions.
Yet, even with these significant offseason moves, one critical issue must be resolved on the field: generating turnovers. In 2024, the Cowboys finished with a turnover margin of minus nine, tying for the third-worst figure in the league. That kind of disparity is hard to overcome and often translates to fewer wins over the course of a season. On top of that, the team managed only six interceptions all year, a number that falls well short of what a championship-caliber defense typically produces.
A few days ago, we posed a question to fans: who will lead the Cowboys in interceptions in 2026? The vote came out fairly evenly, with veteran DaRon Bland narrowly ahead at 34%. The remaining five participants each earned at least 13% of the vote, underscoring the uncertainty around who will emerge as the most reliable playmaker in the secondary. The spread reflects a collective desire for more production from the defense and a belief that several players could step into that role.
Fans are invited to join the conversation in the comments and share their expectations. Which players do you expect to make the biggest impact, and how soon do you think they’ll start producing turnover-worthy plays for a defense that aims to be a team-strength rather than a liability?
For anyone tracking offseason NFL odds and prop bets, our partner at FanDuel offers resources and markets that can complement your analysis and strategy as you project how the Cowboys’ defense might evolve in 2026. As the roster adjustments take hold and the defensive scheme begins to settle in, the emphasis will remain on turning opportunities into takeaways and ensuring the entire unit contributes to keeping opposing offenses in check. If the defense can start generating more frequent and timely turnovers, Dallas will be better positioned to convert stops into favorable field position and, ultimately, more wins.
