Three edge players the Cowboys could add, not counting Von Miller:
Joey Bosa. Of the three options we’re considering, Bosa stands out as the best. The 2016 NFL draft’s third overall pick is entering his 11th season. He spent nine years with the Chargers, accumulating 343 tackles and 72 sacks, though durability concerns followed him, contributing to the Chargers’ decision not to re-sign him ahead of the 2025 season. Last year with the Bills, he played 15 games, recording 29 tackles, five sacks, and an NFL-leading five forced fumbles. Durability will always be a concern, but Bosa is well-rounded, highly experienced, and knows how to get after the quarterback. If Dallas reaches the regular season and isn’t satisfied with the current pass rush, signing someone like Bosa, assuming he’s still available, could be a winning move.
In the end, the potential for a move like Miller hinges on cost, fit, and how the Cowboys assess their edge depth come training camp. It’s plausible, it’s intriguing, and it would make sense for a defense looking to bolster its rush and add veteran leadership.
