The Buffalo Bills were a big problem for the Detroit Lions in the first half Thursday night.Dan Campbell was more concerned about the little shit. The Lions coach delivered a colorful assessment of his team’s problems after Detroit went into halftime trailing Buffalo 27-10 at Highmark Stadium.“We’ve just got to stay on the field and we’ve got to score points, and cut out the penalties because they’re killing us right now,” Campbell told Amazon Prime sideline reporter Kaylee Hartung. “The little shit is killing us.”Campbell had plenty of little things to choose from.Detroit committed seven penalties for 36 yards in the first half. A false start turned a third-and-1 into third-and-6 late in the second quarter, and Bradley Chubb sacked Jared Goff for a 13-yard loss on the next play.Earlier, the Lions went from second-and-1 at the Buffalo 41 to fourth-and-22 at their own 38 after Greg Rousseau’s second sack of the game and a high snap that Goff recovered for an 11-yard loss. The bigger problem was what Buffalo did with the football. The Bills scored touchdowns on each of their first four possessions and piled up 299 yards in the first half.“We’ve had five possessions on both sides of the ball,” Campbell said. “We let them score on four of them, which we knew was going to be a tall task.”“The little shit is killing us”Dan Campbell is PISSED after that half from the Lions pic.twitter.com/lLaemJY28R— Barstool Sports (@barstoolsports) September 18, 2026This article originally appeared on Rochester Democrat and Chronicle: Dan Campbell explains Lions’ problems vs. Bills: ‘The little s— is killing us’
