​Hamtramck — Detroit City Football Club’s three-game winning streak was broken in a 1-0 loss to the Las Vegas Lights Football Club on Saturday night, marking their first home loss in the USL Championship this season. “I thought we had too many players having an off night to be quite honest — when you need to win games, you need your big players to step up to the plate,” DCFC head coach Danny Dichio said. “They’ve been fantastic this year, but when we have more than 3 or 4 guys having an off night, it’s difficult to win games.”Colorful smoke bombs of pink, orange, and blue filled the air from the DCFC fans to kick off the sold-out match before 7,252 people. A minute into the game, Las Vegas forward Oalex Anderson scored the goal with an assist from midfielder Carson Locker. Thirteen minutes later, Las Vegas made an early substitution after goalkeeper Charlie Lanphier was hit with rough physical contact while blocking a goal and was subbed for his teammate Triston Henry. The anticipation for Detroit’s first goal was high from the fans as the stadium filled with the chant, “DC-FC, DC-FC,” but the goal never came. While DCFC midfielder Rafa Mentzingen was attempting a shot, Las Vegas forward Christian Pinzón tripped Mentzingen up and was given a yellow card, the first of the night. DCFC midfielder Abdoulaye Diop joined his opponent with one of his own for unsportsmanlike conduct. Five minutes were added to the clock for the first half, but the time flew by with DCFC trailing 1-0. “To concede after 40-seconds at home is a no-no for us, and it’s very uncharacteristic of us,” Dichio said. “That’s disappointing because those 40 seconds end up costing us the game, losing our home record, and we got a disappointed, frustrated bunch of players in there.” Possession of the ball went to Las Vegas to start the second half, but they received two yellow cards within six minutes. Locker caused DCFC defender Haruki Yamazaki to take a tumble and he received the first, then Anderson clashed with DCFC goalkeeper Carlos Herrera for the second.  The 67th minute hit the clock with Detroit still scoreless. They changed their lineup with defender Tommy Silva, midfielder Ryan Williams, and forward Preston Tabortetaka checking into the game for midfielders Maxi Rodriguez, Kobe Hernandez-Foster, and Mentzingen.The adjustment didn’t change the magnet Las Vegas had for collecting yellow cards, and their midfielder, Giorgio Probo grabbed their next one at 71 minutes. After the referee ruled a play to be over, Las Vegas midfielder Patrick Leal kicked a ball into the stands, which led DCFC defender Devon Amoo-Mensah to confront him, and they both received a yellow card. An extra six minutes were added to the match, and DCFC took several shots in the last two minutes, but Las Vegas’ defense was tight, and they held onto their lead to win the game, 1-0. “Maybe this is a game that we needed to give us a little bit of a jolt as we
