The Miami Dolphins have changed out most of their receiver room over the last few months, as they’ve traded Jaylen Waddle and moved on from Tyreek Hill, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Cedrick Wilson Jr. and D’Wayne Eskridge. To fill those spots, the Dolphins signed Tutu Atwell, Jalen Tolbert, Terrace Marshall Jr., Jalen Reagor and Donaven McCulley while also taking Caleb Douglas, Chris Bell and Kevin Coleman Jr. in the draft.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementMiami’s wide receiver room is still lacking talent overall, which the team should try to address in the coming weeks to get an actual feel for who Malik Willis as a quarterback. While they don’t have much money, the Dolphins could swing a trade, and interestingly, Bleacher Report’s Moe Moton recently suggested that they should attempt to acquire Carolina Panthers wideout Xavier Legette.Legette, 25, played at South Carolina from 2019-23, earning All-SEC honors once. With the Gamecocks, he appeared in 53 games over five seasons, catching 113 passes for 1,678 yards and 12 touchdowns. However, his final season was the most impressive, as he recorded 71 receptions for 1,255 yards and seven scores. The Panthers took Legette in the first round (No. 32 overall) of the 2024 NFL draft. Through two years, he hasn’t performed like a first-round pick, catching 84 passes for 860 yards and seven touchdowns in 31 games.Perhaps a change of scenery is exactly what Legette needs in 2026, and Moton suggests the Dolphins could get him for a mid-round pick in the 2027 NFL draft. This article originally appeared on Dolphins Wire: Dolphins urged to trade for former first-round pick before Week 1
