Then only 15, he sparkled in pre-season and made it clear to Mikel Arteta that he was ready to impact matches at the highest level.  A year on, Dowman is now an established first-team player. He is the youngest ever Premier League winner and the competition’s youngest ever scorer, and he looks set to make even more of a mark this season. In this friendly against Girona, Dowman created Arsenal’s opening goal with a gorgeous defence-splitting pass for Havertz. He did so after receiving the ball under pressure and spinning into space. Dowman then scored Arsenal’s third with a powerful low drive from the edge of the box. Dowman is in competition with Bukayo Saka and Noni Madueke for a place on the right wing, which means this summer represents a huge opportunity for the teenager. After playing for England at the World Cup, Saka and Madueke will both miss most of pre-season. Dowman, therefore, has a serious chance of going into the new campaign as the starting right winger. This was the Greek winger’s first match in front of supporters and he immediately demonstrated why Arsenal were willing to pay £34m to buy him from Club Brugge. With Tzolis, it is all about the final product. Goals and assists. He struck 22 times for Club Brugge last season, and registered 29 assists. How did he produce such impressive numbers? The answer could be seen in his first-half goal against Girona. Receiving the ball on the left wing, Tzolis quickly accelerated towards the penalty area and unleashed a low shot.
