Some shocking news came out in the NBA world after it was reported that Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro, now former teammates after Herro was traded as part of package to the Milwaukee Bucks, got into a fight at a hotel practice court in Las Vegas over social media posts Herro made criticizing Adebayo. The two players were teammates for seven years in Miami and Herro dodged answering any questions about the altercation when he was interviewed after a Bucks Summer League game, even saying there was “all love in Miami” after the trade. Neither the Heat nor the Bucks have made an official comment either.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThe news has obviously swept across the NBA world since it happened and Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green has weighed in on it now on his podcast The Draymond Green Show, going after “Heat culture” and specifically touching on his feeling about retired Heat star Udonis Haslem.”This is two guys Udonis Haslem raised. If you raised this young guy in the light of what you was saying about me, and now he punches this other young guy, that y’all kind of co-raised, are you going to have that same energy?” Green said (via The Heat Central). The root of Green’s issue with Haslem goes back to when Green punched his then-teammate Jordan poole during practice in a now-notorious video that circulated online, and at the time Haslem criticized Green for doing it.Now that Adebayo and Herro have had this public blowup, two players that came into the league while Haslem was with the Heat, Green is calling out what he feels like is the hypocrisy of Haslem’s criticism of him all those years ago.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementGreen also touched on how Haslem trated Jimmy Butler, now Green’s teammate, when Butler was with the Heat, saying that he was getting into it with players younger than him the same way green felt he did with Poole.Adebayo and Herro’s situation is different than Green’s was with Poole. Adebayo and Herro aren’t teammates anymore and Adebayo confronted Herro over public criticisms he made on social media, whereas Green and Poole got into it at practice as teammates over things that were allegedly said on the court. The situations may be different, but Green still clearly feels strongly about what “Heat culture” must have been like for Herro to feel strongly enough about Adebayo to trash him once they weren’t teammates anymore.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementGreen also ended his rant siding with Adeabyo, saying that, like Poole, Herro “probably said some very disrespectful things.” So it’s clear where the Golden State star stands on the situation at least.
