​With the Summer finally here, the AAU circuit is starting to heat up. That includes the premier event, the Peach Jam in South Carolina. Coming off an eventful weekend in Las Vegas, the next step in the circuit will be the Peach Jam.And already a Duke basketball commit is impressing.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementFour-star commit Kager Knueppel helped Team Herro get off to a good start with a win in their Peach Jam opener. Knueppel scored 15 points, six assists, four rebounds, and two blocks. He played in 29 minutes and went 6-of-8 from the field, including 2-of-4 from the three-point line.The performance is another good one for Knueppel who has been a rising star in the the Winter and Spring. He’s now carrying that into the Summer.After committing to Duke last month, Knueppel saw his stock rise as he is getting closer to that five-star rating. He’s moved up into the top 25 in the 2027 recruiting rankings.As it stands now, Knueppel is ranked as the No. 22 overall player, No. 2 power forward, and No. 2 player out of the state of Wisconsin, according to the 247Sports 2027 Composite Rankings. He’s also the first player to commit to Duke in the 2027 class, getting them off to a good start. With the commitment, he helped continue the Knueppel legacy at Duke.Team Herro is led by former Kentucky standout, Miami Heat guard and current Milwaukee Buck Tyler Herro. It’s one of the top AAU teams in the Midwest, allowing Knueppel to showcase his talents just like his brother, Kon did before heading to Duke.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementIf Knueppel can continue this pace through the Summer and into his senior season, that ranking should continue to climb. We should also expect Duke to land some more premier players in the 2027 class as they have some big-time targets.With Duke having the top class in 2026, building on that and carrying it over to 2027 and 2028 will be key for Jon Scheyer’s staff. For now, let’s hope Knueppel can continue to shine, especially in this Peach Jam event through the weekend down in South Carolina.
