Celtic have confirmed the arrival of Camilo Duran from Qarabag on a five-year contract. The 24-year-old Colombian forward joins the Scottish champions from the Azerbaijan Premier League runners-up for an undisclosed fee. Last season, Duran notched 15 goals and added 10 assists, with five of those goals coming in 10 appearances in the Champions League.
“It was a dream come true to play in the Champions League,” the club’s first new signing of the summer told the club’s media. “That’s what you dream of as a kid, so scoring goals there was incredible, and that’s what I want to keep doing here—scoring goals in the Champions League. I give my all in every game, with a lot of effort and dedication, and hopefully the goals will follow.”
“It’s an honor to be the first Colombian to play for Celtic. It has been a dream of mine since I was a child to play for my country, and I hope that, by being here at Celtic and performing well, that dream can someday become a reality.”
