PHILADELPHIA — The Eagles should look no further than the foundation of their offense for their offense falling flat during its 24-20 loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday at Lincoln Financial FieldThe Eagles amassed 172 total yards and went 0-for-12 on third down. Passing plays broke down, and run plays were stuffed at the line of scrimmage. The Eagles’ offensive line issues could wreck their season; the Eagles are now 2-2 and in second place in the NFC East. “Not concerned,” Eagles offensive tackle Jordan Mailata said after Sunday’s loss. “It’s Week 4. I’m not concerned, and I can’t be. I can’t be concerned. If I get concerned, then that’s what it starts from. It’s like an infection. It starts from the top down. … I just double down. Got to double down on what we do good and double down on what we do bad and correct it. Correct what we’re doing bad right now.”According to Pro Football Focus, left guard Cam Jurgens allowed five pressures, while right guard Tyler Steen and center Drew Kendall gave up one and three pressures, respectively. Hours before kickoff, the Eagles’ offensive line suffered a major blow when right tackle Lane Johnson was ruled out for personal reasons, leaving Markel Bell, a third-round rookie, to make his first start. Bell gave up five pressures. The Rams recorded seven quarterback hits and four sacks on Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts and held him to 93 passing yards. The Rams blitzed Hurts on 60.6% of his dropbacks on Sunday, which was their highest blitz rate ever under defensive coordinator Chris Shula, per Next Gen Stats. The Rams blitzed the Eagles on 11 of the Eagles’ 12 third downs, finishing with six pressures and a sack.“We got to be better up front, give Jalen (Hurts) more time,” Jurgens said.Eagles star running back Saquon Barkley missed most of the game after suffering a hamstring injury on the first drive.Without Barkley, the Eagles had some success on the ground, but the offensive line continued to struggle. From the second quarter through the third quarter, the Eagles rushed just nine times for 18 yards. On the first play of the second half, Eagles backup running back Tank Bigsby was stuffed for no gain. On the Eagles’ second-to-last drive of the game, Bigsby gained one yard on first-and-10 before the Eagles sputtered on their next two plays and punted the ball.In the first quarter, the Eagles settled for a field goal after forcing a turnover because they lost yards on a run. On third-and-1 from Los Angeles’ 6-yard line, Bigsby lost five yards.“We just got to win up front in this outside-zone scheme,” Mailata said. “Because again, our DNA is based on the outside-zone scheme. I think the stretch blocks have to be wider. Just off the head right now, that’s the only thing that I’m thinking about right now. So we’ve got to truly stretch the ball. I can’t comment on the running back’s angle. I just know that this offense is built off the outside zone, and in o
