He has experience returning punts and can provide depth behind a receiving group led by DeVonta Smith, Dontayvion Wicks, Makai Lemon and Hollywood Brown. Deguara, 29, brings considerably more NFL experience to the practice squad. Green Bay selected the 6-foot-2, 240-pound tight end in the third round of the 2020 NFL draft. He has appeared in 77 regular-season games with 12 starts for the Packers, Jacksonville Jaguars and Arizona Cardinals. Deguara has recorded 53 receptions for 471 yards and three touchdowns, including a career-long 62-yard score. He also appeared in three postseason games with Green Bay.Deguara has experience lining up as a traditional tight end, H-back and fullback. His blocking ability and special-teams background could add value as the Eagles continue to manage depth after Eli Stowers’ placement on injured reserve. Dallas Goedert, Johnny Mundt and E.J. Jenkins remain the tight ends on Philadelphia’s active roster. Deguara will begin on the practice squad but gives the Eagles an experienced option who could be elevated if another need arises. This article originally appeared on Eagles Wire: Eagles place Dickerson on IR, promote Britain Covey to active roster
