PHILADELPHIA— The Eagles traded offensive lineman Cam Jurgens to the Baltimore Ravens for a second-round pick in 2028 and a fifth-round pick in 2027, the team announced on Wednesday. In the trade, the Eagles also gave up a 2027 seventh-round pick. This trade is an unexpected one. But landing a second-round pick in exchange for a declining player is a good deal for the Eagles. The Eagles moved Jurgens from center to left guard before Week 2, and he struggled in that new role.Jurgens allowed 12 pressures in his three starts at left guard, per Pro Football Focus.Jurgens has struggled over the last two years, but his teammates don’t blame him for playing poorly this year.“Cam is a center,” injured Eagles left guard Landon Dickerson told Sportsradio 94WIP on Monday night. “I do hate that we made that decision to move him to left guard. Because you never want to mess up — if one person goes down, you don’t want to mess up two people just to fix it. Obviously I don’t have a say when it comes to personnel stuff, but I think it was just a moment where we don’t have the depth that you would ideally like to have across the board. That was the way to get the best five guys onto the field.”Jurgens reported concussion symptoms after Sunday’s 24-20 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. He was not expected to play against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday in London.
