​EAST LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – The DeWitt Panthers defeated East Lansing in four sets on Tuesday night. The match was East Lansing’s “Block out Hodgkin Lymphoma” night, a chance to raise awareness and funds for the form of cancer and rally around an assistant coach who is battling the disease.East Lansing assistant Ericka Baer said she was diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma last November. She underwent chemotherapy and finished her treatment in June and has been back on the sidelines with the Trojans this fall.The volleyball program had special shirts made for the match and will be donating a portion of the proceeds to the Karmanos Cancer Center. Players also had purple ribbons in their hair for Tuesday’s match.The Trojans rallied from a 24-21 deficit to take a thrilling first set 26-24. However, DeWitt seized control as the match went on and won the next three sets 25-16, 25-10 and 25-20.With the win, the Panthers stay unbeaten in CAAC Blue play.Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
