Professional athletes like the Los Angeles Dodgers often utilize the services of private chefs to take care of their meals, keeping them nourished and ready to perform at their highest level.Hiring a personal chef is out of the price ranges of most people, but that doesn’t mean you can’t eat like a Dodger. With the help of his MVP client, shortstop Mookie Betts, chef James Dalton opened up Table 504, offering both a variety of catering services and a sandwich shop in Santa Clarita.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementChef James was kind enough to invite us here at Dodgers Nation over for a visit, and we were wowed by his sandwiches, cheesesteaks, cinnamon rolls and so much more. For an elite athlete like Betts, a surefire future Hall of Famer, is a personalized experience, Chef James told Dodgers Nation’s Ava Brand.Through the years, Chef James and Betts have worked together to find the perfect balance of flavorful food and fuel for a top-flight ballplayer and his family.“When he was younger and I first met him, first started cooking for him and his family, it was a year of me just like cooking,” he explained. “He had never had all the different food that I can do, so switching it up all the time is great because the customer stays the same. You know what I mean? So every day has to be different.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisement“So that was a good way to like showcase a lot of stuff that different stuff I can do. But over the years, we collectively like got dialed in on like, ‘OK, we we shouldn’t be eating like this,’ or you find ways to make healthier versions of stuff you love. Does it taste as good? No, of course not. Everybody knows that. But it still can satiate your appetite.”At the sandwich shop, fans can enjoy some of Chef James’ recipes. Granted, they won’t be dialed in to your personal taste like Betts can do, but the delicious offerings are well worth the drive.Chef James Dalton of Table 504 shows off a cheesesteak.“Our sandwiches in one word, they would just be like fresh, clean,” he said. “You’re not going to feel like ‘Oh my God’ after you’re done. They’re a good size. A lot of people take half for dinner … Everything is rotating and it just stays fresh.”AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementIf you want to check it out for yourself, visit Table 504 on Instagram here or in person at 26306 Diamond Place, Ste 120, Santa Clarita, CA.
