​Offensive lineman Omari Lawson is a four-star prospect in the 2028 class who is currently committed to the Syracuse Orange. That hasn’t stopped schools from pursuing him, and that includes Florida State.The Seminoles have made him a key target despite his commitment, and they’ve done a good job making waves in his recruitment, according to the latest development. Lawson has set a game visit for Aug. 29 when FSU kicks off the 2026 season at home against the New Mexico State Aggies, per Zach Blostein of 247Sports. He’ll also visit their arch rivals the Florida Gators, when they play the Ole Miss Rebels on Sept. 26 in Gainesville.Lawson is the No. 121 overall player in the country and the No. 15 offensive tackle per the 247Sports composite rankings. He’s also the No. 16 recruit in Florida.The 6-foot-6, 260-pounder, who attends Zarephath Academy High School in Jacksonville, spoke on the bond that he’s established with the Seminoles.”I feel like FSU is doing a good job building a relationship with me and making me feel like I’m a priority,” Lawson said. “I like the opportunity there and the way they’re developing their players, especially up front.”Offensive line coach Herb Hand hasn’t made any major splashes in terms of recruiting since coming to Florida State, but he’s certainly helped develop the guys that have come to Tallahassee in the transfer portal.
