​David Knight is a five-time world enduro champion [BBC]A new adventure and enduro festival is set to join the Manx sporting calendar this weekend, led by five-time world enduro champion David Knight. The Manxman has personally curated the routes, drawing on trails he rode throughout his career, including some he used to train for his biggest championship wins.Enduro is a form of off-road motorcycle racing that combines speed with navigation over long, mixed-terrain routes, often lasting several hours or days.Organisers said the selection includes historic and lesser-known trails, and is suitable for riders of different experience levels.David Knight was awarded an MBE for services to motorcycling [Getty Images]”The Isle of Man’s terrain is incredible and unlike anywhere else in the world,” Knight said.”These trails have been a huge part of my riding career, so I’m excited to share them and let people experience the Island in a completely different way.”Organisers said the festival is designed to showcase the Island’s landscapes and outdoor offerings as much as the riding itself.Knight, an Isle of Man sporting ambassador, said he hoped the event would become a permanent fixture on the Island’s sporting calendar.Knight Ride takes place throughout Friday and Saturday at Manx Fun Farm in Onchan. It will include group riding sessions on David Knight’s planned routes, a trade village, demo bikes and Q&A sessions with riding legends.
