ESPN analyst Louis Riddick had a divisive take on social media when stating Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels is the best quarterback of the 2024 NFL Draft class.Fans of New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye and Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams will likely disagree.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementRiddick’s comments came in response to ESPN’s top 10 quarterback rankings, which were compiled from the votes of NFL executives, coaches and scouts. Maye came in at No. 8 on the list, while Williams was No. 10. Daniels did not make the top 10.”Jayden Daniels is still the best QB of the ‘24 class so…,” Riddick posted on X on Tuesday.Daniels has had a solid career to this point. He led the Commanders to the NFC Championship Game in his rookie season. However, he played in just seven games last season due to injury. The No. 2 overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft still managed to throw for 1,262 yards, eight touchdowns and three interceptions.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementHealth has been the biggest concern for Daniels in his young NFL career. With that said, Maye has put more on his resume. The Patriots’ young gunslinger was the runner-up for the 2025 NFL MVP award with numbers that surpassed even Daniels’ impressive rookie season. Maye threw for 4,394 yards, 31 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He also helped lead the Patriots to the Super Bowl.Williams and the Bears advanced to the divisional round of the playoffs last season, with the former No. 1 overall draft pick throwing for 3,942 yards, 27 touchdowns and seven interceptions.Daniels has some catching up to do, but one thing is certain: the 2024 quarterback class is a special one.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementFollow Patriots Wire on Twitter and Facebook. This article originally appeared on Patriots Wire: ESPN analyst makes unexpected choice for top 2024 QB draft pick
