ESPN identifies the Jaguars’ most valuable players

By admin — In News — July 16, 2026

The Jacksonville Jaguars have a strong roster, but as with any other team, there are some players who inevitably will stand out.ESPN’s Bill Barnwell released his annual list of top trade targets for each team, naming the players who would be worth a first-round pick (or more). While it’s largely a thought exercise rather than a prediction of which players will actually get traded, it gives insight into who each team’s top players could be.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementFor the Jaguars, Barnwell selected five players: Trevor Lawrence, Josh Hines-Allen, Brian Thomas, Jr., Travon Walker, and Travis Hunter. And the group serves as a decent snapshot for the best of the Jacksonville roster as a whole.Unsurprisingly, Lawrence led the group, with Barnwell estimating that he would be worth two first-round picks, and possibly more, though he criticized the QB for his inconsistency. However, Barnwell likely took into account the reality of Lawrence’s unique situation in rating him so highly despite the inconsistent performance: Lawrence has had to deal with constant coaching turnover and instability from his teammates.During his relatively short tenure in the NFL, Lawrence has played under three head coaches and three offensive coordinators. Under Liam Coen in 2025, however, Lawrence had his best season yet. It’s more than plausible to believe he will finally be able to reach his full potential with a strong supporting cast and stability from his coaches.Hines-Allen and Walker are not only among the league’s best pass-rush duos but also serve as experienced leadership in the Jaguars’ locker room. They have proven themselves to be cornerstones of the defense, and as Barnwell pointed out, their position is currently seen as especially valuable, particularly for players entering their prime.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementConversely, Hunter and Thomas are still young players with seemingly endless potential. At his best, Thomas has proven to be among the league’s elite wide receivers, and Hunter is able to make explosive plays on both sides of the ball. The future for both of these players looks bright, which is likely why they would command such a high trade value. This article originally appeared on Jaguars Wire: ESPN identifies the Jaguars’ most valuable players
