Then, on a Friday update, Miller revealed on social media that he would be stepping away from his duties at ESPN and would be placed on indefinite leave. He described his medical progress in a post on X, noting that the surgery to remove his left arm had been successful and expressing hope for a future prosthetic replacement. He also mentioned that surgeries on his femur and patella had been successful and that the medical team had managed to save his left leg. He added that stepping away would allow him to concentrate on healing and recovery, thanking supporters for their prayers and well wishes and asking them to keep them coming.
