​Cleveland Cavaliers center Evan Mobley landed at No. 7 with a 94 rating when 2K published its NBA 2K27 shot blocker ratings on Aug. 6.Mobley’s number matches Memphis center Zach Edey and Minnesota center Rudy Gobert. Six players graded higher. San Antonio’s Victor Wembanyama has the category’s only 99; Washington’s Alex Sarr is at 97; Indiana’s Jay Huff and Oklahoma City’s Chet Holmgren are at 96; and Portland’s Donovan Clingan is at 95. The Lakers’ Walker Kessler and New Orleans’ Yves Missi are the last two names on the graphic at 93.Mobley averaged 18.2 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 3.6 assists in 31.9 minutes per game across 65 games last season. He blocked 1.7 shots and recorded 0.7 steals per game. He shot 54.6% from the field, 29.7% from three, and 60.6% from the free-throw line, and he made 1.0 three-pointer per game.In 2024-25 Mobley won Defensive Player of the Year. That same season he made the All-Defensive First Team, the All-NBA Second Team, and his first All-Star team. Cleveland finished with the best record in the Eastern Conference.Mobley and the Cavaliers agreed to a five-year maximum rookie extension in July 2024. The projected value was $224.2 million. He won Defensive Player of the Year the following April, and the award triggered the 30% escalator in the deal. The total went to $269.1 million. His 2025-26 salary went from $38.7 million to $46.4 million. The deal runs through 2029-30, and he cannot reach unrestricted free agency until the 2031 offseason. Donovan Mitchell signed a four-year, $273 million extension in July that does not start until 2027-28. Only Cade Cunningham has a larger rookie extension than Mobley’s. Wembanyama’s new five-year, $252 million deal is smaller than both.Cleveland took Mobley third overall out of USC in the 2021 draft. He has appeared in 334 regular-season games and averaged 16.7 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists.The Cavaliers went 52-30 and finished fourth in the East. They beat Toronto in seven games, then came back from a 2-0 deficit to eliminate top-seeded Detroit in seven. In that Game 7, Mobley had 21 points on 7-of-10 shooting, 12 rebounds, and 6 assists. Three games earlier, he put up 17 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, and 5 blocks in a 112-103 win.Cleveland reached the conference finals for the first time since 2018 and got swept. The Knicks closed it out 130-93 on May 25, with Mitchell scoring 31 in the loss.
