​EVANS, Ga. (WJBF)- Liliana Beemer is a track and cross-country standout state champion and a first-place finisher in the Peachtree Road race 10k and holds Columbia County high school records in events ranging from the 800 meters to the 5k. And it doesn’t stop there. She’s an AP scholar who boasts a 96.18 Cumulative grade point average. She says she couldn’t do it without her parents.”My dad does, you know, every morning he’s out there, every step, he’s out there, he can’t run with me, but he’s biking with me. Him. Along with my mom. She’s the one who does all the background where, you know, she, she’s the one who, you know, you know, athletes eat a lot. She’s the one who makes all the very well-rounded meals, all that she’s there for emotional support. My dad, he’s the coach. My mom’s the person I go cry to about my dad. But, you know, it’s all love.”Her dad says they do a lot of training to make her a well-rounded athlete.”A lot of things to make her, you know, have a wide range. So from 10k up, you know, so she runs a lot of miles, but then she also practices her speed work. So that way she can compete at, you know, multiple different events, at least at the high school level,” said Josh Beemer.And her mother says she’s just reaping what she has sown.”It’s just nice to see her hard work pay off. I mean, she she’s out there with more discipline than many kids in that age bracket, and, it’s just as a mom, it’s warming to see it pay off.
