​Everton have had a bid accepted by Monaco for United States striker Folarin Balogun, the Press Association understands.Reports have suggested the Toffees offered around £40 million ($54 million) for the 25-year-old as they seek to strengthen their attack before Tuesday’s transfer deadline.Should Balogun agree to the move, it would mark a return to the Premier League three years after he left Arsenal for Monaco in a £35-million deal.Everton will now hope to agree personal terms and complete the other formalities of the move.Balogun caught the eye at this summer’s World Cup but was also at the centre of major controversy when a ban incurred for a red card was suspended after an intervention by US president Donald Trump.He has scored 31 goals in 91 appearances for Monaco and featured for the club in the Champions League.Born in New York, Balogun came through the Gunners’ youth ranks after moving to London as a child. He had a loan spell with Middlesbrough before moving to Monaco after a successful loan at Reims.
