​Montrell Washington’s back in the NFL. The former Denver Broncos fifth-round draft pick out of Penn State landed with the Houston Texans on Wednesday. Houston will mark Washington’s fourth NFL team. He also attempted to break into the United Football League this spring.Washington (5-10, 170 pounds) played in 15 games in his rookie season with the Broncos in 2022. He returned 32 punts and 18 kickoffs, but lost his spot after fumbling five times. After being waived by Denver in 2023, Washington went on to spend time with the  Kansas City Chiefs and New York Giants. He hasn’t appeared in a regular season game since his rookie season, but Washington will now get a fresh start with the Texans as he attempts to revive his NFL career. Elsewhere on the ex-Bronco front, cornerback Fabian Moreau signed with the Washington Commanders, outside linebacker Garrett Nelson joined the Seattle Seahawks, defensive back Quinton Newsome signed with the Arizona Cardinals and offensive lineman Sebastian Gutierrez landed with the Dallas Cowboys.
